Live from Otto's Shrunken Head, East Village, June 8, 2015...

An incredible thing happened last night.
My Monday started off like any other Monday; the chaotic beautiful messiness of having two toddlers. 630am wake up, classes, racing one off to school, trying to get the other one to nap, and in between trying to squeeze in a yoga class. But after I tucked them in and said goodnight, I grabbed my guitar to head to Otto's where I would play my first show since having my babies.
I had second guessed myself all day, with total performance anxiety, and then found this quote by Rilke:
"Describe your sorrows and desires, the thoughts that pass through your mind and your belief in some kind of beauty-describe all these with heartfelt, silent, humble sincerity and, when you express yourself, use the Things around you, the images from your dreams and the objects you remember."
It gave me chills, as it perfectly illustrated how I wrote my album. I just wanted to share my stories through music, and was so grateful to finally have a stage to do that.
It was amazing to be back up on stage singing and playing. My heart is bursting with love for everyone who came out and even the ones who didn't but just texted to tell me to break a leg.And I'm so grateful to my musical mentor Kyle, my bff Charl, my friend Jonny and my new friend Mike for performing with me. I had such a blast and am still high off the love and creative energy.
